Camper in Maroon Creek ValleyCalifornia is world renowned for its natural beauty and outdoor recreation. Camping in a State or National Park, is an excellent way to experience California. There are hundreds of campgrounds that accommodate tents and recreation vehicles (RVs). California camping provides access to a range of other activities including fishing, hiking, jeeping, mountain bike riding plus hiking and backpacking.

Description - California's National Parks, Monuments and Forests cover a large area, from the Pacific Ocean, to the crest of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. These parks and forests include the lowest point in the western hemisphere, at Death Valley , and the highest point in the 48 contiguous states, at Mount Whitney . The state encompasses such well known parks as Yosemite NP , Sequoia , Death Valley and Joshua Tree NP

Recreation - Recreation opportunities around campgrounds range the spectrum from backpacking to rock climbing. There are excellent opportunities for fishing, hiking, photography, camping and picnicking in many of the parks.

Attractions - If Yosemite, with over 1200 square miles of forest land and a name that is recognized worldwide is the crown, then the Sierra Nevada Mountains are the gem of California. Lake Tahoe up north, San Bernardino NF, to the south, Joshua Tree, Devils Postpile, Death Valley, andGolden Gate National Recreation Areaare just a small portion of the splendid places to travel to.
