Arc'teryx Men's Beta AR Jacket
Set yourself up for the backcountry with the waterproof and breathable Arcteryx Men's Beta AR jacket. This 3-layer Gore-Tex shell uses two weights of Pro Shell to deliver the ultimate in minimalist storm protection and packability. The Beta AR was designed with go-light alpine purists in mind. Its lightweight construction means you can stow this storm shell in your pack on the up-track or bust it out on the trail when the weather sets in. Arcteryx keeps the fit athletic for functional mountain use, but its clean good looks will keep you dry in town, too. The reinforced shoulders and elbows add durability in high wear areas. The Arcteryx Beta AR Jacket is the perfect shell to top off your own custom layering system for any mountain pursuit.

Arcteryx Beta
Likes: The cut, the water proof protection, breathability, ease of moveability, and zippers under the arm pits to open up the coat and cool down. Dislikes: I was most surprised that the zipper pull/lanyard was not as durable as other coats I've had and looks a bit on the cheap side although it doesn't effect the function. Also, just a note about color. I purchased the "nightshade" color thinking that it was grey. Indoors it looks blue grey; however the zippers are a green color and in outdoor lighting the color is more green. If you like green, this color is for you.

awesome jacket!
Since I've got this, I've been using it almost everyday to commute by bike. The ventilation works very well, so I never get moisture even if I sweat a lot. very comfortable one!

Great jacket!
This is pretty much a perfect jacket. I have been drooling over Arc'teryx for a long time now and finally decided to take the plunge. Leaving in a temperate climate I often find myself in rain, heat, and cold, sleet, snow. Get a little bit of it all. Just the jacket is perfect for 40-65 degrees. Any colder and throw a fleece underneath and you should be good to go! At first I thought the sleeves were a bit to baggy until I started moving in the jacket soon I realized they were like that for a reason. Range of motion in the arms is great.
