Reviews - Arc'teryx Women's Phase SV Zip Neck Long Sleeve
A "Phase" I Don't Want to Grow Out Of
The Phase SV is Arc Teryx's heavyweight baselayer. That being said, you should not be mislead to think this is an extremely heavyweight layer. Compared to other brand's heaviest weight layers, you may find this to be the thinnest of the bunch. Still, the SV is very comfortable and of the high quality one would expect from Arc Teryx. I would consider it more as a midlevel base in terms of warmth. It would be warm enough as a base in temperatures above 30 when performing highly aerobic activities. Using it alone as a base in temperatures below 30 for something like skiing may necessitate wearing several more layers. The SV also serves very well as a casual top for Fall and winter as it does not appear to be obviously and overtly technical in design. The top does run small, and depending on how fitted you like your tops, you may want to size up. In most Arc Teryx jackets, sweaters, and tops, I wear an XS. I like my base layers slightly loose, and I ended up getting a medium in the SV which fits me perfectly (5'6, 105). At this size, I can wear it alone or over top of a very thin short sleeve shirt. The blackberry color is gorgeous. The Liadan color is more grey than white.
My first time purchasing Arc'teryx and I am not disappointed. It was a bit smaller than I expected but fits fine as it stretches. I was comfortable - not too hot or cold while snowshoeing. It will be a great piece to have for spring or fall hiking. I love the dark purple color. I would definately purchase this item again.
Good buy - like the fit and comfort and the fact that is long and covers well
