Reviews - Carhartt Men's Hickory Stripe Denim Shirt
Add this shirt to the list of classic pieces for the outdoorsman (or lady) .... LLBean Maine Hunter's Boots, Woolrich Buffalo Plaid Wool Jacket, Carhartt Hickory Stripe Denim Shirt ..... For me, it is a work shirt since I'm outdoors a good deal. Carhartt apparently designed this shirt along the lines of a shirt traditionally worn by loggers in the Pacific NW. It looks like a tried and true design and will surely be as tough as nails, just like you would expect from Carhartt. It just looks great and I love the pullover/zip functionality. Use this shirt as a wear layer, not an insulating layer. Works great with a long or short sleeve, mid-weight t-shirt. The sizing is as described and the shirt feels like a well worn favorite right out of the box. The best description I can give for the hickory stripe denim fabric is that it looks like the material that a railroad engineer's cap is made of (with a bit coarser stripe). Recommended!
A tough shirt
I really like this shirt. I bought it for wearing while doing outdoor / yard work, and I have no doubt that it will hold up through some hard use. The material is nice, thick, and appears durable. As usual, Carhartt clothes have a nice generous fit. The only issue I've found with this shirt is that the sleeve length is a bit short. I am 5' 10", 160 pounds and I bought a medium in this shirt, and that's the size I normally buy in Carhartt shirts. This is the first Carhartt shirt that I've had this issue with, so I'm not sure if it is the design of this particular shirt or if I got a defective shirt. I don't have long arms but these sleeves feel about two or three inches short. The torso length and the chest width are just fine. Anyway, for my purposes this shirt will still work great. Altrec had a great price for this shirt too!
