Crescent Moon Snowshoes Women's Silver 13 Snowshoe
Part of the Women's series of snowshoes made by Crescent Moon, the Silver 13 Mountain Hiking Snowshoes for Women are recommended for trails and hikes in packed powder for women up to 165lbs. Very lightweight snowshoe design makes it easy to enjoy the outdoors with your friends and family. The simplified SPL binding goes on easily, stays on comfortably and the steeply shaped nose on the Silver 13 along with the exaggerated tear drop shaped frame allows you to walk normally without changing your stride or the distance your feet have to stay apart in order to avoid knocking your shoes together, like traditionally shaped snowshoes. Silver 13s are guaranteed to provide you with a great snowshoe experience this season. The bindings are the most important part of any snowshoe and all of the Silver models have a modified version of the award winning SPL binding. The Silver series feature a simple cam-locking cinch buckle while overthe-foot buckles are nylon cinch mechanisms. The Silver series of snowshoes also have aluminum crampons vs. stainless steel claws and polished aluminum frames. The Silver series feature 6063 aircraft grade aluminum, TIG welded tear-drop shaped frames, PVC free decking material called TGS (the good stuff), and polyurethane harness which forms the stirrup section of the SPL binding. All of the models in the Silver series of snowshoes feature a fixed-rotation" hinge system, which means the snowshoe lifts off the ground with each step this is the opposite of a free-rotation" shoe which drags the tail of the shoe along the ground and will never lift any snow. Crescent Moon snowshoes are more responsive, maneuverable, and athletic than free-rotation shoes, but, you will never get snow thrown on you with the free rotation design, even though you may not be as maneuverable. The choice is yours, but Crescent Moon feels the snowshoes should closely follow the natural motion of your foot and the mechanics of your normal gait. The Silver series of snowshoes, as well as the Gold series of snowshoes by Crescent Moon do exactly that. All of the snowshoes by Crescent Moon are made in Boulder, CO, USA.

Reviews - Crescent Moon Snowshoes Women's Silver 13 Snowshoe
Great Snow Shoes
This is the 3rd set of Cresecent moon snow shoes we have purchased. Got them for our grand daughter. We use them in the high country of Colorado and break our own trails normally. Love the way they perform while bush wacking. Easy to cross logs and other obstacles due to their partial pivot design. Others who have the full pivot design have often fallen or had troubles crossing trail obstacles. Also like the fact that they are made in Colorado. Especially good on tracked trails. Light weight and durable. Easy to get on and off and stay secure while hiking. Seem to be holding up well after three seasons.
review and comparison with tubbs after one outing
Our household ordered one pair of the Crescent Moon Silver 13s and one pair of the Tubbs Women's Wilderness 21 inch snowshoes. The snowshoes are built differently, with the CM's having a more tapered appearance and the Tubbs being rounder. We tried these showshoes out together in the eastern sierra this past weekend on a 3-hour hike that included steep terrain and some crusty snow, paired with some Leki hiking poles that were retrofitted with snow baskets. On both snowshoes, the bindings were easy to fit and stayed snug. The crampons dug in and held. The CMs threw a little more snow off the back end than the Tubbs did, but this may have been a matter of technique. The decking on the Tubbs appears to be sturdier, but the CMs were more than up to the task. I wouldn't hesitate to take them out again or loan them to a friend to try. It's too soon to say how they'll hold up over time, but we really appreciate that the CMs are made in Colorado and that the company tries to be as eco-conscious as possible in its use of materials.
Easy and Comfortable
This is the first pair of snowshoes that I have bought and I definitely enjoy them. They are easy to get into and were comfortable during the hikes that I have recently taken. The bindings are easy to adjust and comfortably accommodated my 7.5 size foot. Sturdy and well-made - I highly recommend them
