Five.Ten Spire Climbing Shoes

The best-selling climbing shoe on the market, the Five Ten Spire Climbing Shoes for Men and Women are ideal for entry-level climbers seeking a well-constructed, comfortable, general-purpose shoe that will support feet-in-training. The Spire features a rounded toe profile for all-day comfort and these shoes are an incredible value for beginning climbers needing a shoe that does it all.

  • Split leather
  • Stealth C4
  • Asym toe
  • Conventional lacing
  • Keep in mind that leather climbing shoes tend to stretch and you may want to purchase them a half size smaller than your normal shoe size. Most of the stretch will be in the width, although they will stretch a little in length.

Great fitting beginners shoe, 5.10 rubber!
I must preface by saying that this is my first pair of climbing shoes, thus my experience is little. What I know for sure is that these were recommended to me by climbers who have used many companies and models. The fit was on the money almost immediately and the rubber feels great. Hands down, heads and shoulders above the many rentals I've tried (obviously.)

Good, solid, comfortable
I tried on both the Five Ten Coyote and the Spire in the same size. I wanted to get the Spire because it seems to be higher quality with reinforced lacing/grommets and no scratchy pull tag on the inside of the heel. Even though they were the same size, the Spire was a tiny bit longer than the Coyote and had a narrower toe box. I normally wear 6.5 in women's street shoes. I ended up keeping the 37 in Five Ten Coyote - I've been using it for indoor and outdoor climbing and it is as comfortable as rock climbing shoes can get. I would recommend the Coyote and the Spire for beginners or people looking for more comfortable rock climbing shoes.
