Icebreaker Women's City Ultralite Crew Socks

After having worn Icebreaker City Ultralites through all but the warmest months of the past year, I find them to be softer, smoother, and more comfortable than any of the other brands of merino wool socks that I've worn. Their durability also seems superior, including an appreciably lesser tendency to pill. They go through repeated cold washer-loads and medium dryer-loads and come out looking and feeling great. For my feet, the sizing of Icebreaker socks works out ideally. I am on the cusp of Smalls and Mediums, which gives me a sock in many brands that is either somewhat toe-cramping or far too loose and "bunchy." The size divide in Icebreakers is a half-size higher than in other brands that I've worn, so their Small fits me absolutely perfectly -- like an old-fashioned individually-sized sock. The appearance of City Socks is wonderful for a wide range of applications, including every-day dress-sock functionality. With no knit-in logo or brand name visible during wear, they are much more versatile than brands that sport prominent contrasting-colored writing and symbols that limit their use to casual, athletic applications. And the colors that I've purchased are very versatile and practical yet aesthetically appealing -- a Black that is (and remains) a true black (with no "off" tones against black pants) and a Silk color that is a subtly lilac-tinged grey that works remarkably well with many of the lighter-colored items in my wardrobe (which tend to include mid-grey pants teamed with tops that often lean toward purplish hues). Icebreaker City Ultralites offer ample daily-wear warmth and comfort without bulk that would stretch the shoes with which they are worn and thus limit the versatility of the shoes. These have become my preferred general-purpose socks -- the ones that I wear most and re-order to replace other brands. Although I find the cost of all socks of substantial merino wool content challenging to my budget, I do feel that this Icebreaker product offers greater value, dollar-for-dollar, than others that I've worn.

Perfect everyday sock
I've been switching all my socks to the Icebreaker line, not just for winter sports, but for every day wear. The lite and ultralite line is perfect for Spring, Summer, and Autumn. I find my feet stay dry but not hot.

Very nice socks
Great socks. Medium weight so not too bulky but keeps my feet warm. I find myself wanting to wear them everyday so I'll probably need to invest in a few more pairs :)
