Great Boots!
I wanted to wait until I'd had these boots out a few times before I wrote a review; but I was pretty excited from the first hike. I've now had them on several hikes of varying length and effort, and these boots are solid and stable. After an initial short hike I took them on a moderate-length pack trip and found them to perform amazingly well, despite little break in. Where one person in our group was suffering large blisters from his brand-new boots, I had not even a rub. The cushioning seems just right, and my socks and feet remained reasonably dry despite the concerns I read in another review. My feet are normal width, and the toe box can feel slightly cramped after several miles, but not unbearable by any means. Typically wear 11 - 11.5 and the 11.5 fits perfectly with a meaty pair of socks (and generally a pair of liner socks). Only con might be that a small area (about 1/4") of the toe covering separated from the leather after a few miles, but seems to have stopped there. Not a big issue for me, these boots are otherwise quite well made.

Vertigo High
I had previously bought kayland boots and liked them alot. when they finally gave up It was no surprise they were choosen the number 1 boots by many outdoor reviewers. after a winter of use I can not be more happier, once again kayland deliver. love these boots. the only thing that i would change is the pull tab position wich is to low to my taste. Got them on sale at Altrec nice.

Men's Vertigo High Hiking Boots
What prompted me to buy these boots is I had seen the Vertigo High Boot was awarded the Backpacker Editors' Choice Award for 2007 and it used an eVent membrane for waterproofing. After reading the other reviews I was convinced to give them a try. I've got a narrow foot which causes me to buy a shoe usually in a smaller size in order to keep the eyelets from overlapping. Several reviews addressed this issue and said the boot did a great job at fitting a narrower foot partly because the lacing extends to toe for precise fit, so I ordered my correct size. I've only worn these a few times, so I naturally I can't address how long they'll hold up. When I first tried them on they felt extremely comfortable, very supportive, and felt like they molded to my feet. For the brief time Ive worn these boots my feet dont shift forward, theres plenty of room in the toe box and are comfortable to wear.
