La Sportiva N.A. Men's Trango S Evo GTX Mountaineering Boot

Excellent boots
I wore these right out of the box on a three-day backpack and climb on Mount Shasta and couldn't be happier. They were light and comfy in the approach hike, showed really good stability on screen and rocks, and scampered right up the glacier with a light Grivel crampon. I've been looking for the perfect mountaineering boot for several years, and I've finally found it!

best boots
Good boot, most comfortable around under $500. Biggest design flaw is the third shoelace eyelet down from the top; it is a fabric/nylon loop (the type found on rock climbing slippers) that will probably give out and wear through or pull out around year 3 or 4.

Great all around boot.
Straight out of the box I did some mountaineering with these boots and had zero problems. No rubbing spots or anything. I have even done up to 5.7 multi-pitch climbing with these on Mt. Kenya. Boots worked great.
