Excellent Fit
I'm a big Montrail fan and this shoe didn't disappoint. It fits well, feels great and looks good too. I have yet to test the water resistance as it's the middle of summer in southern California and we don't get much rain. I've worn this shoe on four 1+ hour hikes over rocky terrain and though it takes a few minutes for my heel to finally settle in, I couldn't think of a better shoe.

Amazingly Light and Responsive
I tried these as an alternative to my usual Hardrock's. From the moment I took them out of the box I was amazed at how light they were. The heal is very well padded and are not quite as stiff as the Hardrock. So far I am very satisfied with these shoes. The jury is still out on how they will hold up over time. If they are anything like the rest of the Montrail products I've purchased, I don't think that there is anything to worry about.

13 runs small
I rate these as a four because they are made extremely well. But, they run nearly one size small. I wear a 12 or 13 in every shoe I own, and never seen a shoe run so small except for Puma's. The other thing to note is these shoes are extremely forward leaning (tall heel, short front). I have never felt a running shoe with such a forward slope. I am sure the heel would compress after a month or so, but I am going to stick with Salomon's GTX offerings for my trail running.
