Comfortable and waterproof
I was surprised at how comfortable these shoes are, as stiff as they are. Definitely sealed and waterproof, and fairly lightweight as well. I love Montrail shoes for my feet, having used their trail-tested GORE-TEX boots since the '90s. I don't own many GORE-TEX shoes/boots because I prefer the breathability of non-waterproof footwear, but my Montrails have come in handy, mostly for travel & day hiking as opposed to hard-core backpacking. The soles are grippy on all but the slickest of hard floors, especially when wet, so be careful when not in the wilderness or when driving. I ordered my normal size shoe; even though they appear to be on the narrow side, my slightly wide feet fit fine and didn't require any break-in.

Comfortable shoe. Very durable. Only negative is wide at toe. Not for narrow feet.
