Mountain Hardwear Men's Epic Pant

In place of all the bells and whistles one usually finds on waterproof ski pants, the Mountain Hardware Men's Epic Pant is built for one simple reason, to provide protection on go-light, go-fast backcountry trips. Multiple pockets, side zips, and belt loops are not found on the Epic Pant, but the Conduit Silk coating provides an all important waterproof barrier that breathes and feels smooth and dry against bare skin or a base layer. Articulated knees keep you striding in comfort as you push on through rain, snow, or sleet to reach your next camp.

  • 100% nylon Ark™ Ripstop with a Conduit™ Silk waterproof and breathable micro-porous polyurethane coating. Includes a durable water repellant coating on outer face fabric
  • Conduit™ Silk coating gives the inner face a smooth, soft, and dry feeling
  • Zip fly with snap
  • Partial elastic waist is both snug and forgiving
  • Articulated knees offer freedom of motion
  • Laminated cuff tabs with Velcro® closure
  • 9 inch ankle zips for easier on and off
  • 7 oz. (205 g.) in size medium

Best Lightweight
After owning and useing, for both work and play, several different types and brands of rain gear; I've finaly setteled on Mountain Hardwear as the best of the bunch. The technology that they use makeing this gear is very light and breathable. With out a doubt the most comfortable rain gear I've ever worn. Useing the size chart provided I found the Epic pant bottoms true to fit. Fine by me cause I wear them over breifs or base layer, silky smooth on the inside! I suppose that if you were to wear them over other clothing, you might want to go one size bigger. Top it all, no sweat buildup, except of course where you'd expect it at the hips and back where my pack lays. After trail use I've found small snags, the tradeoff being that this is light material. However, because of the ripstop, the snags don't grow. All in all, top line gear.

Great outdoor wear for hiking
Love the insulation from cold. Can be very useful on harsh weather.

Great way to save weight
I bought these for my husband and he's very happy with them. We're both replacing our heavy old Goretex pants with newer stuff to lighten our packs for long approaches. These pants are lightweight and pretty sturdy-looking. Mountain Hardwear always makes good stuff.
