Well thought out trail gaiter
I just bought my second pair of MHW Trail Gaiters after wearing out the first. The first pair was pretty good, but the current version is even better. The problem I had with the underfoot cord being too far back has been corrected so that the cord sits in the arch rather than under the heel, drastically reducing cord wear. All the quality features of the old version are still there. The lace hook stays put under your laces, unlike OR's over-the-lace hook, and the fabric is durable yet light and stretchy. MHW continues to engineer solid and well thought out gear. Now if only they hadn't sold out to Columbia.

Nice set of gaiters
Fits well around my legs and does not slide down when I move.

Works well in most situations
These gaiters work well for most hiking scenarios. They are great at keeping scree and light snow out of your boots, and they are more comfortable to wear than the longer varieties. However, they are not waterproof, so they are not suited for heavy rain, or prolonged use in the snow, as they will let water in over time. They do pack down well and are lightweight.
