Mountain Safety Research Evo Ascent 22 Snowshoe

Get the robust workhorse of all terrain snowshoes with the MSR Evo Ascent 22 Snowshoe. Called the 22 because it's just over 22 inches long, this injection molded plastic shoe is the epitome of the KISS principle. The frame and deck are a single piece, and the steel traction rails and brake bars are molded directly into the shoe's base to provide stout, long-lasting grip. It uses the same PosiLock AT binding, with its freeze-resistant, easy to manipulate silicone straps, as the other Ascent line shoes, and has a calf comforting Televator for climbing steep terrain. It also accepts MSR's modular flotation tails, which increase its carrying capacity and flotation in powdery snow. Don't go looking for solutions to problems that don't exist, keep it simple with the Evo Ascent 22 Snowshoe from MSR.

Think of Cascade Designs MSR Denali Evo Ascent as the SUV of the snowshoe world: Made to be equally effective on both crusty, wind-blown snow as well as when the powder measures in feet, the Denali Evos are versatile and stout. Toothy steel rails underfoot provide plenty of bite for traction they can ascend hard-pack snow thats verging on ice. Add the shoes four-tooth steel crampon spikes and you can dig in to front-point up steep slopes with ease. Highly recommend!

Love these!
I have been looking for a good snowshoe for a while and i had it narrowed down to 2 brands. MSR and atlas. I am 6' and weigh 200 lbs so i needed a fairly large shoe and when i was doing the research i wanted something very versatile since i would be on varied hikes. That is the main reason i went with MSR because i do a lot of trail hiking and i wanted to get the tails for added off trail use. I used them the other day on a nice 3 hour trail hike and decided to go off trail and try the added tails. They worked awesome. the bindings adjusted very well and held my foot securely and i had no trouble walking. I loved how the deck actually flexed and conformed to the snow and the spikes dug in very well on packed snow and ice. The only thing i really noticed was the noise the shoes made on packed snow but to me it was no big deal. Everything worked flawlessly on shoe and i would highly recommend this product!
