Great pack
This pack has enough room for a jacket, water, snacks, camera, and much more on day trips. I chose the Day pack rather than the Touring because I also wanted to use this pack to bike to school, and needed it to fit my laptop (13 inch), or a couple textbooks. I am a female and the pack is a little large for my body, but with the amount of stuff I carry the size is perfect. For hot days, this pack is great as your back doesn't get sweaty. I have no back pain wearing this as the lumbar strap keeps weight off my neck and shoulders. I would not carry a heavy load using just the shoulder strap, as the pack is really designed to be worn as a lumbar pack. As other reviewers said, it can fall away from your body if not worn properly. But I find that using both the lumbar strap and shoulder strap and tightening the delta straps fixes this top-heavy problem.

Best Lumbar Pack Ever!!!
This Lumbar Pack is so awesome, one of my friends had one a few years ago and i always wanted to get one but for some reason i couldn't find one. Saw this one on Altrec.com and couldn't resist, bought one for myself but my brother stole it so now i have to run and buy another one right away before they run out. Great Bag! Mountainsmith Rocks!!!

Comfortable, roomy, simple.
I was looking for a pack for more extensive day hikes and with the addition of the Mountainsmith strapettes, I found a pack for multi day lightweight treks. I like the simplicity of the inside and the bright yellow interior. Many companies make a big deal out of all of the cool organization pockets inside their bags but in fact I almost never make much use of them so the simple open design is more useful. The weight distributes well and in my test hikes I determined you can use this pack to carry in the low 20 pound range at least for the beginning of the hike.
