Great for the knees
I purchased these before I went to Utah hiking and then the Grand Caynon. They were great to have when your on the trail either for a quick hour or all day. They fold up nice to either go in the suitcase or in a back pack. They take a lot of the load off my old tire knees when hiking all Amy. You can't go wrong.

Save Your Knees
I have been a Grand Canyon backpacker for more than 40 years and my knees aren't what they used to be. But trekking poles help immensely. Most poles are way too expensive and flimsy, but these Mountain Smith poles are moderately priced and very durable. Hiking in the backcountry of the Grand Canyon is rough on equipment but these poles have easily matched the challenge. They are easy to adjust the length, very useful when traversing steep slopes, and stay locked at that length until you want to change it. The grips are comfortable, too.

Work great
I had knee surgery recently, so bought these poles to remove pressure from my knees when hiking the 14ers near me. I love that they have a bigger rubber tip than other poles I looked at, which just have a small metal tip. Also, shock absorber is pretty nice. I've never had poles before, but think these are pretty good for the money.
