Nordica Men's Hot Rod Pro JetFuel CA Ski w/ N EXP 2S XBI CT Binding

Tweaked and refined with a new range of lengths, the Nordica Hot Rod Jet Fuel CA ski lives up to its name with amazing speed, nimble grace and good stability for experts and advanced skiers. While some all-mountain skis are heavy with dampening features, the Nordica Hot Rod Jet Fuel CA feels lighter (some would say livelier) than some all-mountain skis made by other ski manufacturers. It busts crud with abandon, rips groomers and does wonderfully wide GS turns in powder, but unless you're an expert skier, you might be a little unsettled by the lively behavior when the Hot Rod Jet Fuel CA starts gaining velocity. The Hot Rod Jet Fuel CA ski offers Nordica's XBI (X Balance Integrated) binding interface that transmits consistent pressure in a smooth ski flex from your boots to the ski edges for improved stability, balance and control. Extra heel pressure from the back of the ski is transferred through the XBI system interface to the area in front of the binding, redistributing your skiing power unlike anything else available on the market, and this can help correct balance errors where you're either too far forward or too far back over the ski. The result of XBI is something Nordica calls "glued to the snow" but we like to think of it as excellent edge hold. In fact, with the flex of the ski it's possible to establish tip-to-tail edge hold on smooth snow surfaces, so you always turn where and when you're ready. This version of the Hot Rod Pro Jet Fuel CA includes Nordica's integrated N EXP 2S XBI CT binding. It's an upscale performance binding design that's ideal for all-mountain and racing applications. The N EXP 2S XBI CT binding features a new two-spring control toe feature that optimizes boot hold in a lateral position with the main spring, while keeping the boot vertically in position through a second spring located in the lower part of the toe piece. This two-spring design averts potential unintended releases while you're skiing, but still facilitates binding release during a twisting fall. If you need a fast, expert-oriented all-mountain ski that's lively and great for a range of conditions, the Nordica Hot Rod Jet Fuel CA is one of the best you can ride this season. One important note: In previous skiing magazine reviews, the feedback on this ski's performance varied depending on which ski lengths the testers and editors tested, so keep length in mind and match the appropriate sized Hot Rod Jet Fuel to your skiing preferences. In case you need specific data, we included the turn radius data for all sizes because of the significant differences in characteristics.

nice ride
i demoed the 170 CA ski at beaver creek with 4-6 inches of fresh and they were a lot of fun! i am used to skiing a 175 carver and 183 powder ski so these were a bit short. it was the only length my supervisor had. i was so impressed with their carving ability on the groomers and the way they handled turns through pushed around snow... i just ordered the 178's.

Amazing All Mountain Ride
I demoed this ski in a 178 for 3 days when I blew the back binding out of the ski of my 2009 Nordica Helldivers in a 186 while in Brekenridge January of 2010 and it may be the best ski I have been on in a while. I consider myself an expert level skier who at 6'1 and 200 lbs demands a lot from a ski. It's versatility is amazing. Lighting quick and incredibly responsive. It handled every condition from groomers to crud and from ice to powder (what little there was). Very stable at high speed and turned on a dime. When Nordica warrantied my Helldivers, I went with these and I can't wait to get back out on the snow!!
