Reviews - Outdoor Research Men's Foray Jacket
excellent product. Waterproof and it breathes, thank you Goretex. A great value for the money. I'm 5'8", 150 lbs. and the medium is a perfect fit. It's also very lightweight, easy on my backpack.
The hem to bicepe zip is an amazing idea. This allows for great ventilation while carrying a day pack or overnight pack. It may be that i haven't worn a new rain jacket in a while, but this thing repells water. It reppells the intense thunderstorms of the south east without getting you way overheated in the southeast hot and mugginess. The weight is noticably light.
Lightweight and waterproof.
This is my first Outdoor research product. I have always heard good things about them so I figured what the heck. For the price of this sghell it has alot of features found only in higher priced shells. I was very eager to test how waterproof this shell was. Living in Illinois in January means an occasional wet snow or two. I was at a jobsite surveying when it started to snow. I had the Foray shell in my car so I gave it it's first bath. I sat outside for three hours in a heavy wet snow. This jacket performed flawlessly. The paclite Goretex shed water like no other. It was pretty cold out but with a heavy weight fleece underneath, I stayed plenty warm. I cannot comment on the breathibility as of yet but, the full length zippers on the sides of this jacket have me pretty convinced that it will do just fine. Overall, this shell seems like a great buy. The quality of the product prompted me to buy on of their sombrero's as well! I can't wait to try these bad boys out in the Boundary waters this summer!!
