I recently tried a variety of gloves and this is the one I chose. The other contenders were the Backstop, the PL100, the PL400, the PL400 Mitt, and the PL150. Of all the gloves I tried out, the Gripper is hands down the most robust glove. It may not be as warm as the PL400, however once you throw in a little bit of activity, work, or wind the Gripper holds fast while the PL400 starts to dwindle. The PL400 is great at what it was designed for, a liner glove. But if you are looking for a more robust glove capable of taking some abuse and providing a higher level of warmth in real world conditions, without the need for an additional shell glove, the Gripper is the way to go.
Great and washes well
I can't count the number of gloves I have from the most gnarly mittens designed for -40degree temperatures to cool weather gloves. ' This glove is awesome because it is windproof, durable, and EASY TO WASH! It's for cool, but not uber-cold temperatures. Most of my outdooring gloves contain real leather, and they require careful handwashings. However, the Gripper is all synthetic, and it can just be tossed in the washing machine and comes out smelling clean again. This is why I prefer to wear and abuse this glove. I can also do this with my synthetic liner gloves, but most of my outer wear gloves contain leather, and I hate washing them after a season of abuse. The glove is sized great too. I have fat stubby fingers, but the medium still fits me well. I was even able to wear a liner glove underneath this when I went up Mount Washington last month.
Gloves Gripper Coyote
If you are in the service, these are great gloves. They are coyote and subdued logo. Good protection in 32 and above, wind protection - but not waterproof. Would buy again.
