Outdoor Research Men's Mithrilite Jacket
Spring time, time for some alpine climbing, and there's no better jacket to bring along than the Outdoor Research Mithrilite Jacket for men. Inspired by the very capable Mithril jacket, the Mithrilite is constructed of lighter fabric. This weatherproof, breathable softshell jacket has a durable polyester knit face, a moisture-regulating polyester mesh backing and a 3-layer laminate to seal out wetness. An internal storm flap, waterproof zippers and an adjustable hood help protect against gnarly storms while sweat and body vapor is still able to escape outside. Double-sliding TorsoFlo vents reach from the bottom hem to the armpit for side body ventilation that works better than any pit zip we've seen. Nice or gnarly, you can focus on your climb and forget about your layers with the Outdoor Research Men's Mithrilite Jacket.

Reviews - Outdoor Research Men's Mithrilite Jacket
Favorite go-to softshell
The Outdoor Research Mithrilite has become my new favorite go-to softshell. Its full waterproofness fends off showers or flurries, while its great breathability is enhanced even further with the easy-to-use TorsoFlo waist to pit zips. With that combination, there's no need to go change jackets or layers for the up or down of your chosen sport. It's been a great backcountry ski jacket for me, and it's sure to see lots of use when in the summer alpine season arrives. Its clean cut makes it easy to pull a puffy overtop during lunch breaks. But it's also roomy enough to add a mid-weight layer underneath for really cold days. The huge handwarmer pockets are great, as well as the very adjustable hood that will fit over ski or climbing helmets. The media port on the inside chest pocket keeps my earbud wires neatly tucked away inside the jacket. To sum it up, its features make this softshell extremely functional across a wide range of conditions and seasons. And it fits, feels and looks great, also making it a fine jacket for town/city life.
