Great Mitt Choice
I had been looking for a good mitt to do a variety of backcountry adventuring in the snow. Living in the NW I find the need for solid waterproof mitts. I get really cold fingers and hands so warmth was also a factor. I am a Gore-tex MT and have been impressed with gore-tex's ability to stand up to the test of waterproofness and durability. These mitts were just what I was looking for! I found that they fit wonderfully and were worth what I spent. They are durable and I can wear either a liner glove or the liner mitts that came with them. I have used them snow camping and traveling around the NW in a variety of different winter pursuits; very pleased with their performance. I would recommend looking at the sizing chart from OR as these are not gender specific mitts. I got my mitts a bit large, but they have been great regardless.

...the best alround wardrobe for your hands..
I did a lot of research prior to buying these mitts and they have more than lived up to expectations. I have used these in everything from wet snow conditions to dry and bitterly cold windy peaks and my hands have stayed warm and dry. The outer material is very resilient and tough. The inner stays warm even if you do get them damp. Excellent closure/adjustment systems that are easy to use with both mitts on. The secure/removeable lanyards for retaining the gloves are a must for windy peaks and will save you hands when a momentary lapse of concentration can mean serious trouble. The best part is being able to remove the inner glove so that you can use the liner itself or the outer with another (possibly lighter)glove. I have provided these mitts to groups that I have guided for and everyone that has used them has raved about them. IMHO - Matched with something like the PL150 gloves, These are the best alround wardrobe for your hands you can buy!

Good mitts
I took these mitts on a two-day snowboarding trip where I was learning to snowboard. On the first day, it was about 20 deg F and after many falls and my gloves being in the snow because of it, my hands stayed warm, cozy, and dry. The second day the temperature was about 10 deg F and these gloves started to get cold. I believe they are rated to 15 deg F, so they were true to their rating. I placed a small hand warmer in the liner (FYI, the pocket for the warmer is on the inside of the liner on the back of the palm) and it helped, but because the warmer pocket location is not near the fingers, my finger tips still felt a bit cold. I am very pleased with my purchase.
