Reviews - Outdoor Research Odd Job Hat
Great Winter Hat with Style
bought this for my college age son who thinks he never has to wear a hat, no matter how cold it is. This is just different enough to catch his attention and let him make his own look. Large size fits well and he has a warm winter hat that stands out from the crowd.
Great Hat for Odd Jobs!
I purchased this hat as an alternative hat to tackle the chilly winters in the mid west. The Odd Job Hat is warm, and the fit is good. The ear flaps are nice, but not a feature that I would say is the hi-lite of the hat. I have small head, and the Medium is a snug fit, but not to tight. If you are on the fence for size - I would suggest ordering up... depending on the shape of your head. The bottle opener is a novelty at best, and quickly found a home near my beer fridge. It's a fun hat. Give it a try.
Get the job done, with attitude
Whether I am taking out rotting compost or fixing my kids greasy bike chain, the Odd Job Hat puts me in a frame of mind that doesn't begrudge the required effort. Ear flaps up, I head to a jazz gig or Euro cafe on a date with my wife. Flaps down, I scrape morning frost off the windshield and shovel snow. The limited color choice makes Espresso brown the best as Charcoal has too much white in it, creating a Jackie Gleason effect. On sizing, I went from a large to an XL so the ear flaps would fully cover the lobes and now there's extra room to add thin beanie on extra chilly walks in the winter wind. Ditch the bottle opener on the band, it declassifies once its novelty quickly wears off.
