Excellent Rain Gear
I purchased these pants for my wife and she used them recently on an 8 day backpacking trip, of which 5 of the days were rainy, and these pants performed beautifully. Besides the Event fabric, which performs great, I've learned that the various laminates manufacturers offer as alternatives to Gore Tex, disappoint. My wifes last rain pants were from Patagonia, which featured their own laminate which did not breath adequately. These pants feature Gore Tex Paclite, which is very light, very breathable, and very waterproof. The fabric is not particularly durable, however, and this must be taken into consideration. I have had a couple incidents with Paclite garments ripping. For me, this is wholly made up for by OR's warranty, which is that they will replace any piece of gear if it fails in any way, so you really have nothing to lose, as long as you don't get stuck in the backcountry with raingear that has failed. These pants wear so light that they are more like windpants than other rain gear I've used and they pack very small. I've since purchased the men's version of this pant, the Foray.

Excellent Gortex
I love the Aspire Pants. They are lightweight and durable. Pack great and keep you dry. Nice fit. I would highly recommend them.

A little short...
I ordered both the Small and the Medium, but both pair were too short for me. I'm 5'7" about 120 lbs. Bummer... they appear to be great otherwise - I really like the 3/4 length zipper.
