comfortable, all around shorts - dries quickly, nice patterns; waist is a little large for slim type kids --would be nice to have adjustable waist (but would add more bulk perhaps); as it is, non bulky. great for active boys/kids; my son is 10, on tallish side, and he wears the medium

Great Design
I bought these shorts for my son and he was so excited about the design of the shorts. He is tall and very skinny, so they fit perfectly length wise but are big in the waist. Patagonia's products last in an 8 year old's world of recess, kickball and getting dirty.
