Patagonia Women's Capilene 2 Lightweight Crew

A versatile essential in any outdoor wardrobe, the Patagonia Capilene 2 Lightweight Crew for Men features open, highly breathable Capilene 2 knit fabric. The lightweight material allows for unhindered airflow and excellent wicking for endurance activities in warm to moderate temperatures. If you're comparing Capilene numbers, Capilene 2 is the fastest-drying Capilene baselayer available from Patagonia. Hikers and climbers like the low-bulk fabric and tapered fit because it layers well with practically any outerwear (Patagonia recommends pairing their Capilene pullovers with Capilene 3 or Capilene 4 fleece in frigid conditions). Patagonia gave their Capilene 2 Crew a curvilinear construction with seams that refuse to chafe beneath a pack or climbing sling. Capilene 2 is also made from quick-wicking, fast-drying 54% post-consumer recycled (and 100% recyclable) polyester that's treated with Gladiodornatural odor control. In a recent research program, Common Threads Recycling Program demonstrated that the environmental impact of recycling worn-out Capilene base layers into new polyester fiber is significantly lower than making that same fiber from virgin materials. When you consider that worn-out garments are diverted from trash incinerators, making new polyester fiber from recycled garments results in an energy savings of 76% and a CO2 emissions (those greenhouse gasses) reduction of 71%, versus creating that fiber from new raw material. It's a design that you can feel good about anywhere on the planet.

  • Fabric: 4-oz. 100% polyester (54% recycled) with Gladiodor® natural odor control
  • Knit is open for maximum breathability and moisture-management yet insulative enough for active use on chilly days
  • Flat-seam construction provides clean, finished look with fine thread for "barely there" seaming
  • Self-fabric collar
  • Raglan sleeves eliminate chafing from pack straps
  • Flat-ribbed underarm and side panels are extra-soft and breathable and provide chafe-free mobility
  • Side seams are rolled forward for chafe-free mobility and added comfort under hip belt
  • 100% recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program
  • Weight: 130 g (4.6 oz)

Will Continue to Be a Repeat Buyer Yrs Over
I LOVE the capilene products by Patagonia. Before, I used an Under Amour base-layer and refused to try anything else until my husband insisted I try the capilene and if I would only give it a chance, I would love it. Well, Ladies - he was RIGHT! (Yes, I'll admit.) I love the fabric, it is comfortable, not-irritatable to sensitive skin, which I certainly have, and fits true-to-size. I'm about 5'5", with a fit/curvy build, 150lbs and wear between a 34C/D. This top fits SO well I even have the 3/4 zipper version, too! Highly recommended product and brand; I plan on continuing buying more sets of these, as needed, in the future for all our family outdoor hiking, skiing, cold-weather activities. I'm a lifer!

Great Light Weight Base Layer
This is the perfect base layer for any activity. I wear it running on days when it's in the 40s and it breathes well. I also like that it is not tight fitting as most base layers are, so I am not self-conscious when wearing it as my only layer. It is extremely comfortable and well made.

love this capilene!
This is a great base layer! It works well in temperatures from the upper 30's to the low 60's. I wear it under the R1 Patagonia layer in colder weather and alone in warmer weather. The colors are great and I haven't found any of them to be too sheer to wear alone. It washes well, holds its shape, and retains its color. I am 5'9", size 12, and prefer a large. Medium would work well for a slimmer fit when layered. I wore one of these everyday in Zion and Bryce in October!
