Reviews - Patagonia Women's Nano Puff Jacket
I'm in my third year of nanos. I have been experimenting over the winter using the nano instead of a bulkier fleece or insulated softshell for mountaineering, snow shoeing and ice climbing. For the weight to warmth ratio and compressibility it is hands down better than a fleece if weight and bulk matter. As expected it is not very durable when coming in contact with ice axes and crampons so a softshell is preferable although it worked fine with a breathable hardshell over the top. Adequately wind and showerproof. I would recommend it as a technical garment. It has a loop to attach it to a harness with carabiner. Personally I think it is a little delicate for rock but as I have three I have now dedicated one to rough pursuits and use it for everything. Great for travelling and casual lightweight warmth. A slightly boxy cut. Decent sized pockets. Not much to not like except perhaps the price.
Love this light jacket
This is the perfect lightweight jacket. It is very soft, warm, and not at all boxy or bulky. I wear it indoors as a sweater, and outdoors in moderately cold weather as a jacket. The fit is perfect and is what I had hoped it would be from consulting the size charts. I would definitely buy another one. Only negative I can think of is that at full price it is pretty expensive.
Very warm, easy to pack in a bag or purse. Great to wear as a shell or midlayer.
