Petzl Tikka Plus 2 Headlamp

Offering even more versatility than the Tikka 2 head lamp model, the Petzl Tikka Plus 2 has been completely reengineered for this season. Built with 1 high output white LED and 1 red LED, the Tikka Plus 2 switches between maximum, economic, and flashing modes with just the click of a simple electronic push-button switch. With a longer light range than the Tikka 2, the Tikka Plus 2 delivers a maximum beam distance of 35 meters and has a maximum burn time of 140 hours. Switch from the white to red LED for improved night vision or for extra visibility and safety in urban environments when riding your bike home late from work. With a redesigned hinged battery compartment that opens wide, there is no more fumbling to close your headlamp like on older models. Equipped with battery life indicator, you will know when it is time to put in new set and the Tikka Plus 2 is compatible with lithium batteries. If you are looking for a small, lightweight, energy efficient headlamp that doesn't compromise visibility and shines bright, the Petzl Tikka Plus 2 will deliver. Other LED headlamps you might be interested in are the Petzl Tikka 2, the Petzl Zipka Plus, Petzl Tikkina 2 and the Petzl Myo XP.

No more headaches
Only by happenstance did I discover this little jewel. I love it. Fits well around my head, not heavy, very bright when needed, or when in the tent the low light is perfect. I use this headlamp for walking my dog in the evenings, leaving my hands free. Very important. Also use it to pick up the dog doo at night, yuck. The red light is great when out during dusk. But the best part is that I no longer get headaches. I could never wear a headlamp for longer than a few minutes without developing a headache. The build of this one distributes the weight well, what little weight there is. Also the functionality of the tilting in different positions is fantastic. Just an overall great lamp. I plan on using it caving. I believe it will be perfect.

Great running headlamp
Used this headlamp for night legs for Hood to Coast relay and Cascade Lakes relay. Also used it for a nighttime 50K race. Lamp is lightweight and caused no headaches. Able to adjust lamp brightness settings for different lighting (low light streetlights, mist, dark). Also able to project the light beam close or far to see road conditions (potholes, slope of road, gravel, etc). Also, I have used this lamp camping without any issues. Highly recommend this headlamp.

Great Headlamp
This head lamp was perfect for what I needed. I used it for a long trip and didn't have to change batteries too often. The headlamp is comfortable to wear and I like the different light settings. The only propblem with it was in freezing temperatures the battery didn't last very long, but this is probably more of a battery problem than a problem with the headlamp. Otherwise I highly recommend this headlamp to everyone, its a good quality headlamp and not too expensive.
