Not like the S-Lab Sense
I was very disappointed that the Sense Mantra is so different than the extremely expensive S-Lab Sense. First of all, the Sense Mantra run at least a half size larger, which is a real problem for me since I typically wear an 8, and 7.5 doesn't exists in the Mantra. The Sense Mantra is also dramatically stiffer than the flexible S-Lab Sense, and does not feel very natural to run in. While obviously this is a forefoot running shoe, sometime your heel inevitably hits the ground first, which I found to be very uncomfortable in the Mantra, as the heal is incredible hard. The only real positive (I guess) is that all that stiffness leads to more protection against sharp rocks. I was thinking this would be the perfect 50 and 100 miler shoe for this summer, but I was really let down.
