Scarpas
Overall this is a very comfortable boot. The only drawback I have noted is the seam of the liner in the boot is just "high" enough to rub a blister on the heel. Other than the issue above, I have enjoyed them thus far. They are comfortable in the heat of Afghanistan summers as well. These boots also fit true to size. I have a very flat, narrow foot and both pairs of Scarpas I have purchased fit very well. I do not feel as if I am sliding around in them.

Won't take'em off!!!
Once you put these on, you will not want to take them off - that's how comfortable these boots are. They could have been just a tad lower than they are, so that they are easy to slide into when you don't want to lace them up in case you go for a short walk. These are the "Santonis" of the hiking boots - so comfortable that it is a sheer pleasure to put them on and just walk. One issue for me was the color - really uninspiring, but I guess that is not the most important characteristic of a good hiking boot. As much as the color is a bit lame, the style of these boots is just great - in a wintery pinch you can wear them with your suit. Not that they are meant to be worn with suit, but you won't look as if you came from a different planet. They are true to size, which is kind of the exception these days. They look like they have been built to last, and the attention to detail in finishing is apparent. I just wish they were offered in different colors. Otherwise, these are the boots you won't regret buying.
