Itch Free Warmth
These can keep you warm without itching. The benefits of merino wool: proper warmth and moisture control. Sizing is good, while I either take a medium or large depending on the cut of the item, these in medium worked fine. Quality seems good, but only have used them a few times, all with good results. Recommended, as you get what you pay for.

Love these
I wear these hunting and also for hiking in cold weather. They fit snug but not tight. The wool does keep body odor to a minimum even after a full day of hiking. They dry rapidly and also function well as an base layer. I also own the matching top and they are also a valuable asset in my outdoor wardrobe. I am 6'1" and weigh 210 and have both in size large and they fit well...snug but not super tight.

Worth buying
I have a couple of pairs from other companies, and think the SmartWool bottoms (and tops) are the best value for the money. The quality is apparent right away, and they are warm and comfortable. Altrec got these to me quickly, and anyone who shops the gear sites online much knows how frustrating it can be dealing with a "fly by the seat of your pants" outfit that ships 5-7 days after you place your order. Nice job, Altrec!
