Reviews - The North Face Men's Shaffle Down Jacket
I bought this jacket for my husband. It is 700 fill but it is very warm and comfortable. He loves this jacket very much.
Almost a great jacket
The description above says its 800 fill down but in reality it is 700 (it says it on the sleeve of the jacket). Since I bought this jacket actually for mountaineering, the quality of down fill is a somewhat material factor. The other concern I have with the jacket is the amount of down in the lower back. Mostly feels like a shell with not enough 'puffiness' in that area. Possibly could turn out to be a cold spot. But keep in mind that the designers might have designed it that way so as to concentrate the fill in the kidney/chest areas without increasing the weight of the jacket. Shell seems to be water resistant and durable. The fit of the jacket allows layering underneath. All in all, seems like a nice, effective piece of kit. Just wish the description would have been accurate.
