Great Coat!
Decided on this jacket from other North Face ones b/c it was thinner and still warm enough for Chicago winters. It is fitted but not too fitted, doesn't feel stiff, and is warm even though it is not down. I am 5' 6" and 135 lbs and the Small fit perfectly. I also liked the longer length. I highly recommend this jacket!

Wonderful for that Biting Cold
Bought this jacket in the middle of a D.C. winter - a frigid one at that. The layers provide a great deal of warmth without being too 'puffy'. It does fit a bit wide at the bottom of the jacket as it bells out so if you have a small frame, I'd go for a smaller size. I bought a Medium for my 5'4 frame and even though I have broad shoulders the size is great. I could probably fit into a Small but wanted to be able to have layers underneath. This jacket is perfect for throwing over gym clothes and going out on the town. I look forward to being able to wear just the parka during rainy season too!

Better for apple-shaped people
I am tall (5'10") and have long arms; more of a pear-shape than an apple-shaped body. I can fit a size small top, but usually need a bigger size to get long enough sleeves. The medium jacket was big in the middle with short sleeves. The way the sleeves were finished at the cuffs seemed kind of cheaply done to me. I think this jacket would fit well for a shorter or apple-shaped figure.
