My favorite hat.
I own about 10 broad-rimmed hats but this is my absolute favorite for around-town wear and traveling. Its'very feminine and flattering with its rounded top and 4.25" brim. It doesn't look 'mannish' like cowboy hats on women do. The photo doesn't do the leather chin strap justice--it's actually 2 thin leather straps (note the 4 knots under the wood bead). When loose the straps are sexy-looking; when tightened the straps hold firmly against the wind. And of course the straps allow you to shove the hat off your head--even this looks kind of sexy with the double straps, knots and wood bead at the neckline, kind of like a sexy leather necklace)--great for the airport or any other time when you don't want to wear your hat but don't want to be stuck carrying it around all day, either. Highly recommend.

sits high on the head
The Ranch Hat sits very high on the head. It felt lose, as if it would blow off unless the strap was made very tight. I also thought the hat might not offer much protection from the sun on my cheeks due to its short-body design. Altrec was courteous in processing my request for a return. The hat was well-constructed and offers SPF 50+ so I will be ordering another Tula hat of different design.
