Great shoe
A little stiff for hiking long distances, but certainly warm and very comfortable for day to day winter wear or cold trails of say 3 miles or less. They form a good seal and with a pair of snowpants I have hiked up to my knees up hills in fresh snow without getting wet or cold. The trouble is on bald ice you will slip and needs crampons or some of those yaktrax grips. I got up a canyon of pure ice on just the shoe tread, which is like rubber spikes, almost a cleat surface, but I slipped a lot even with poles. Any ice covered with even a dust of snow will be easy though- try jogging even. You could always carry a little bag of coarse rock salt on your hip too. The gray/green look great with all my pants and I wear them everywhere. They would be perfect if the laces would stay tied tight instead of slipping.

Comfortable, breathable, excellent
I have always had problems finding a shoe that both fits comfortably and functions well. I purchased these shoes about a month ago and am very happy with them. There was no break period, I slipped the shoes on and they felt great. I walked a few miles in them last week and no complaints. The waterproofing is excellent, water beads up and rolls off the surface. They are well insulated, yet have great ventilation when your foot heats up. These are my favorite shoes!!
