Aspen-Based Wildernet.com Announces Mapping Partnership With myTopo.com.

New Partnership Gives Outdoor Enthusiasts The Ability To Design Large-Format, Waterproof Topo Maps at Wildernet.com

RED LODGE, MT AND ASPEN, CO - Nov. 15, 2001 - Interactive Outdoors, owner of Wildernet.com and Beartooth Mapping, developer of myTopo.com, announced a new partnership that will enable Wildernet.com visitors to design and order custom, large-format topo maps online when planning their outdoor activities.

Wildernet.com, an online outdoor recreation guide, is the most comprehensive website of its kind. In addition to its over 35,000 activity descriptions for hikes, fishing spots, camping grounds, bike routes, horseback rides and more, visitors will now be able to make their own topo maps on the site.

Wildernet's map-making system, powered by MyTopo.com, allows customers to center their topo map anywhere in the U.S., and have their name and a title printed on it. The customer can have it printed with navigational grids and can choose the map's scale. GPS users can center their map precisely on a chosen waypoint. The maps are printed on waterproof, tear resistant paper and shipped within 24 hours. They are large-format, measuring 24" x 36", and cost $14.95 per map.

"Just about every avid outdoor enthusiast knows the frustration of having to buy several maps because the area you need is in the corner of a USGS quad map," said Bob Rankin, chief executive officer of Wildernet.com. "With this system, your map can be centered exactly where you need it to be and you can order it from the comfort of your home or office. Our users are going to love having a convenient way to get their maps -- and these waterproof maps are outdoor-tough, and ready for the most rugged adventure."

"We are pleased to add Wildernet.com to our growing list of partners," said Kevin Toohill, founder of myTopo.com. "Our mission is to get great maps in the hands of people who love them, and as one of the most popular places on the Net for outdoor enthusiasts, we know Wildernet.com will go along ways towards helping us achieve that goal."

MyTopo.com is the web's first and only print-on-demand service for customized, large-format topographic maps. It is wholly owned by Beartooth Mapping, Inc., a privately held company based in Red Lodge, Montana. For more information, visit myTopo.com, email info@mytopo.com or call 1-877-587-9004 (toll-free).
