General Description

Elk Park Trail leads four miles northeast from Forest Road 128 to Overland Reservoir. It continues from the Gunnison National Forest and Forest Road 705, which ends at Overland Reservoir. This trail is good for day use such as hiking, horseback riding and motorized vehicles (less than 40 inches). It is used primarily during big game season.

Directions from Hotchkiss: Travel west on Highway 92 for three miles to Leroux Creek Road (RD 31.00). Turn right (north) on to RD 31.00 and travel 16 miles to the trailhead. RD 31.00 eventually turns into Forest Road 128.
