Aside from the fact that access is so long and difficult, Castle Creek flows below the sandstone formations known as " The Castles". Beaver ponds frequent this five to six-foot wide creek. Willow are along the banks in the upper stretches. Brown and brook trout inhabit this beautiful stream. The fishing is rated as fair.
Directions: Access to Castle Creek must be reached from Mill Creek Trail #450 or Swampy Pass Trail #439. No motorized vehicle travel is allowed due to wilderness designation. From both trailheads, ten miles of foot or horseback travel is required to reach Castle Creek.
