General Description

Cement Creek Road leads northeast from Highway 135 17 miles to a mine on the southwestern flanks of Mount Tilton. Travel restrictions due to private property may be in effect in this area, please check with the ranger office in Gunnison for current conditions. This road is passable by two wheel drive vehicles to the fork with Italian Creek Road, 759. There are several good hiking and mountain biking opportunities available from this road.

Directions from Crested Butte: Travel six miles south on Highway 135. Cement Creek Road is also the turnoff for CB South.

Cement Creek - The Cement Creek source lies on Mount Tilton in the Elk Mountains east of Crested Butte. It offers good fishing of brown and brook trout.

Cement Creek Campground - Cement Creek Campground provides access to hiking, mountain biking, motorcycle riding, spelunking and fishing.

Farris Creek Trail - Farris Creek Trail leads north and south for four miles to connect Brush Creek and Cement Creek.

Farris Creek Trailhead - Farris Creek Trailhead lies two miles north of Highway 135 on Cement Creek Road. It provides access to heavily used multi-use trails between Cement and Brush Creeks.

Italian Creek - This creek originates high in the southeastern Elk Mountains. The fishing is rated as excellent.
