Bear River Valley
The Bear River Designated Dispersed Campsites stretch along the Bear River and Forest Road 900 for about 10 miles. The campsites are located from 10 to 20 miles southwest of Yampa. There are three reservoirs located in this scenic valley, Stillwater, Yamcolo, and Yampa.

Facilities:

There are 32 dispersed sites spread out along the valley. The campsites have fire grates. Trash collection and a restroom are located at the Yamcolo boat ramp.

Directions from Yampa: Travel S/SW on County Rd 7 for approximately 7 miles to FDR 900. Follow FDR 900 for approximately another 3 miles to 13 miles. Sites are located along this 10 mile stretch of FDR 900.

Normal Services Available: Late May through Mid-November (NOTE: Seasons may vary depending on weather and snow depth. Fee Charged. No drinking water or trash service available at the sites.) .

Bear Lake Picnic Area - Bear Lake Picnic Ground is located in the Bear River area southwest of Yampa. It sits adjacent to Yampa Reservoir and Bear Lake Campground.

Mandall Lakes Trail - The Mandall Lakes Trail, located in the Flat Tops southwest of Yampa, leads from Yampa Reservoir, north past several lakes, to Mandall Pass.

Ute Trail - The Ute Trail runs from the Bear River, southwest of Yampa, north to Heart Lake. It is open to ATV use in addition to foot and horseback travel.

Yamcolo Reservoir Boat Ramp - Yamcolo Reservoir is located in the Bear River area, southwest of Yampa at an elevation of about 9,500 feet.
