Gardner Park Reservoir is located about 12 miles southwest of Yampa in the Bear River area at an elevation of 10,200 feet. The area offers dispersed camping around the reservoir. Some of the recreation opportunities in the area include fishing in the reservoir, picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, and viewing scenery.

A scenic handicapped accessible interpretive trail is located on the southeast side of the reservoir. It runs through the forest adjacent to the reservoir.

Facilities:

The campsites are dispersed. There is trash collection and a restroom. Drinking water is not available.

Directions from Yampa: Travel S/SW on County Rd 7 to for approximately 7 miles to FDR 900. Follow FDR 900 for about 3 miles to FDR 910. Turn left on FDR 910 and go approximately 2 miles to Gardner Park Reservoir.

Seasonal Information:
Normally Accessible: Mid-June through Mid-November (NOTE: Closed by special order for Elk Calving annually until June 17. Services limited: No water.) .

Report: ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! ROAD IS TOUGH IN PLACES, BUT WORTH IT. BEAVER ON ONE SIDE OF LAKE, A GREAT PLACE TO GO.
