Report: I First hiked in on foot in 1976. Mother and Father first hiked in 1960. Most recent trip in 2007 on ATV. Toughest Part: cross slope trail thru aspens on ATV. No one on the trail. Stayed on the trail all the way to Heart Lake. Landmark? Moody Creek is also the best place for lunch. Suggestions? Going in on ATV, pack heavy items on left side.
Conditions: No snow. Dry conditions, trail eroding due to heavy ATV usage and weather.
Water Availability: A good water source about 2 miles from the lake, spring coming out of the mountain. Use water filter just in case.
Recommended Clothing: Light weight clothing for trip. Bring rain gear and sun sun protection
Suggested Accessories: Fly fishing rod, float tube, camera. Metal detector, looking for remnants of 1930's fishing lodge.
