Report: The camp sites are spacious. Site #24 is large enough for a group or family with room to spare. Firewood was plentiful as many beetle kill pine trees have been cut for safety around the campground. Just bring an ax if there is no fire ban. There is still a beautiful canopy of pine and the cutting allows the area more sunshine. Not a bad thing. Big pull through site on the right cirle was the most popular with big rigs. Great picnic table just before the park pay station for big views and nice shade under the pines.
Conditions: It had just rained but only a couple sites were still wet or had puddles. The upper sites were dry and all the sunny sites dried quickly. No bugs in late August. The roads were nicely graveled so no mud or puddles. Perfect mix of sun and shade.
Water Availability: Water was not available at the campground but we knew that and took along what we needed. Get water in Steamboat or Kremmling whichever is on the way.
