Aspen Glade Campground - 1959
Aspen Glade Campground has public access to the Conejos River. Fly fishing only is permitted on the Conejos River gold medal waters (located 1/4 mile upstream) from the campground to Menkhaven Lodge, located approximately 5 miles upstream. Reservations are accepted at this site and it is usually crowded from July 1 to August 15. One camping unit has parking for a 2 car group. Firewood is not provided. There are 34 campsites with tables and fireplaces, 4 vault type toilets, refuse receptacles and drinking water is provided with 5 hydrants with faucets.

Directions from Antonito, Colorado: Travel west on Colorado State Highway 17 for 16 miles to campground entrance.

Seasonal Information:
Normal Services Available: Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend (NOTE: After Labor Day, campground alternates staying open with Mogote Campground every other year until November 15 (may close)The campground is usually crowded from July 1 to August 15.) .

Report: Beautiful campground in lower section. Campground was nearly empty during the week. (Last week in June) Excellent fishing in Conejos river, but fish are "smart." Many in the 16" range. Highly recommended.

Conejos River - The Conejos River provides more than 30 stream miles of high quality wild trout fishing. The Conejos River has more public fishing access along its length than any other major river in Colorado.

Sheep Creek Trail - The Sheep Creek drainage has several unique features which make Trail #735 attractive to day hikers. It shows two examples of ecological succession, one following fire and one following an insect infestation.
