General Description

West Frisco Trail goes all the way to Bennett Mountain, which is 13,203 in elevation. Spectacular views and a diversity of scenery abound on this trail. San Francisco Lakes can be reached from this trail and there are many opportunities for loops and long rides.

Directions from Del Norte: Drive south from Del Norte on County Road 13. Cross the cattle guard and continue to the trailhead at the end of the road. There is lots of parking available in the upper parking lot.

Related Activities
Dry Creek Trail - The trail starts in the low country and climbs steadily towards Bennett Mountain. The views are incredible and other trails and roads connect, which give enthusiasts many opportunities to make a loop trip.

Frisco-Fitton Trail - This trail connects two major trails, Bennett Trail (Forest Trail 872) and West Frisco Trail (Forest Road 850). This trail has steep sections and is difficult for beginners. Rocky cliffs can be seen.

Middle Frisco Trail - This trail is very popular with horsemen during the big game hunting season. The trail starts in a mixed conifer/aspen stand and continues south along the Middle Frisco Creek until you reach Frisco Lakes.

South Fork Rock Creek Trail - South Rock Creek Trail is lightly used and offers spectacular views from the top. Wildflowers, when in bloom, are prolific. The trail is rated as easy, with an occasional moderately difficult stretch.
