General Description

This trail is steep and has not been maintained for some years and is therefore not recommended for beginners. The trail is not accessible from the bottom to the general public. In 1990, the Forest service planned to relocate the entrance to trout Creek Trail (Forest Trail 831) which will offer public access to the entire Decker Country.

Directions from South Fork: Travel southwest from South Fork on U.S. Highway 160 to the Big Meadows Campground turnoff (Forest Development Road 430). Follow Forest Road 430 for 1 mile, past the developed Hunters Lake Trail. The trail takes off from the right (east) ride of the road and follows the drainage.

Seasonal Information:
Normally Open: June through September .
