General Description

Upper Beaver Creek Campground is southwest of South Fork in the Beaver Creek drainage. The facilities include 13 sites with tables and fireplaces, vault type toilets, trash cans and a developed drinking water system with hand pumps (in season) and ample turn around and parking space for trailers. Beaver Creek and Beaver Reservoir offer fishing opportunities.

Directions from South Fork, Colorado: Take U.S. Highway 160 1.0 mile west to the Beaver Creek Forest Access Road #360. Turn left and go 5.0 miles south on FR # 360 to the campground.

Normal Services Available: Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend (NOTE: Campground alternates staying open until November 15 for Big Game Hunting and Fall color viewing. may close Early because of snow.) .

Beaver Creek Campground - The facilities include 20 sites with tables and fireplaces. Attractions in the area include fishing in Beaver Creek and Beaver Reservoir and hiking on Tewksberry Trail 842.

Beaver Creek Reservoir - All sizes of rainbow, brown, brook and native cutthroat trout as well as kokanee salmon tempt the fisherman. There is a paved boat ramp at the south end and the reservoir is suitable for rafts to small motor boats.

Highway Springs Campground - The south fork the Rio Grande provides fishing opportunities. There are 16 sites and no drinking water or firewood is provided.

Ride Thru The Rockies Scenic Byway - Within the Divide District of the Rio Grande National Forest, winds a specially designed car tour. This lengthy course, composed of inspiring scenery and captivating wildlife, creates an excellent modem for viewing elk and deer.

Tewksberry Creek Cross-country Ski Trail - This pleasant trail takes a gentle ascent over scenic Meadow pass between Cattle Mountain and Demijohn Peak.
