General Description

This road switches back and forth through the old Park Creek burn which burned 600 acres in 1960. You can see how the new young forest has established itself. Just before you get back to the Park Creek Road, you will pass Swale Lake. At this time, there are no fish in this lake, but it is planned to fix the dam and stock the lake in the future. It is now a pretty spot for a picnic or a camping spot.

Directions from South Fork, Colorado: Go west on U.S. Highway 160 for about 7 1/2 miles to the Park Creek Road #380. Turn south on Road #380 and go about 7 miles to Forest Road #374. Follow the main #374 road until it takes you back to the Park Creek Road #380.

Seasonal Information:
Normally Accessible: June through September .
