From the Hunters Lake Road the trail takes off down the hill and returns to the Big Meadows road through a variety of timbered open areas.

Snowmobilers have various options for enjoying the terrain. Follow the road to the fork and then go either right, toward Hunters Lake, or left toward the campground. From the campground the Spruce Creek Road (Forest Road 412) goes 6 miles and dead ends at the top of the ridge. Several roads in the old clearcuts are accessible from Spruce Creek Road. Round trip mileage on Hunters Lake Road (Forest Road 430) is 25 miles and the round trip mileage to the end of Spruce Creek Road is 15 miles.
