General Description

The trail has not been maintained and is very difficult to follow. A topographic map is recommended for anyone planning to find the route. It is not passable for stock. Attractions are Cottonwood Lake, spectacular rugged scenery, access to some of the higher peaks for mountaineering and the opportunity for some challenging hiking. No public access is provided across the Baca to the Cottonwood Creek Trail #743.

Directions from Sand Creek Trail: Via Sand Creek Trail #743 from Cottonwood Creek or Music Pass. The trail is closed to motorized traffic.
