General Description

The Big South Trail begins at Highway 14, about 50 miles and leads to Peterson Lake and Long Draw Reservoir. Whether you are on horseback, backpacking or just out for a hike, good fishing can be reached by this trail. Peterson Lake, Long Draw Reservoir and even Mirror lake are accessible. Portions of this trail lead through the Comanche Peak Wilderness.

Directions from Fort Collins: Travel northwest on Highway 14 about 58 miles. The trailhead is 1 mile west of Poudre Falls on the south side of the road. The trailhead is visible from the road.
